Custom Resculpted and Painted "Nitro" Resin Grey Stallion.

"Doc Holiday"

Large "Traditional" sized (approximately 13 1/2 inches nose to base) Resin Gelding "Nitro" mold sculpted by Kitty Cantrell. Resculpted and Painted to be a Grey Stallion.

Stallion genitalia sculpted over gelding gender to be a bucking stallion.

Small vent drilled into the rear crevise for warping prevention.

Painted in pastels and acrylics. Base color in white. Pastelled shading in multiple shades of of grey, coal, and black. Muscles shaded and accented. Sprayed in between each layer. Over 24 layers of pastel work. Dark shaded genitalia and under the lower stomach. Faded dappling along the barrel. Natural dark hooves with multiple shades of beige shading and streaking. Mane and tail in matching black. Flesh pink shaded on the underside of the tail with black hairs painted in. Dark shaded legs. Veining painted under the stomach and shaded down in layers. Stallion part slightly exposed painted in flesh.

Eyes done in multiple shades of brown with elongated pupil. Inside the mouth and tongue done in multiple shades of pink. Teeth in antiqued shades of yellowing and dark brown in the crevices. Cracks in the hooves antiqued.

Dark chestnuts painted, (but I didn't notice I forgot to do those untill after the photos were taken. The photos turned out so well I didn't want to reshoot the model, so the chestnuts are painted afterwards and not shown in these photos. Sorry)

The resin base that the horse comes with is done in multiple layers with pastels and acrylics. Rocks done in brown natural shades with greys and black antiquing. Grassy growth painted in three shades of green and antiqued.

Final added effect, gloss mixed with a faint amount of white acrylic added to the inside of the mouth around the tongue for saliva in the mouth.

Painted in acrylics and sealed in a matt sealer. Inside of nose, mouth, inside the male sheath, and eyes glossed. Artist signature and date under hind leg.
