"West Lake's Candyman"

Marx Johnny West original "Traditional" sized (approximately 14 inches) Thunderbolt Marx horse mold. Resculpted and repainted to be a sorrel chestnut American Saddlebred Stallion.

Original neck, mane, forelocks, and tail removed. New neck sculpted with new mane. Original open mouth resculpted full closed. New nostrils sculpted. New ears sculpted. Front legs repositioned. Back legs repositioned parked out. Hooves resculpted and carved out. Front hooves extended longer for saddlebred hoof wall growth. Back extended. Shoulders resculpted. Musculature sculpted on chest and shoulders. Rump built up and straightened. Stomach resculpted. Long flowing tail sculpted sweeping the floor around the hind leg and arched high at the base. Hind legs sculpted. Pasterns sculpted. Stallion genitalia sculpted.

Done in acrylics and pastels. Base color in rich tan and layered darker to a deep chestnut. Darker shading in the musculature. Light cream/tan mane and tail with darker shading and lighter highlights. Eyes done in multiple shades of browns. Elongated pupil and highlights. Black hooves. Small white star face marking. Dark shaded stallion parts.

Wears real metal horseshoes on all four hooves with painted silver nailmark accents on the hoofwalls.

Painted in acrylics and sealed in a matt sealer. Inside and outside of nose, mouth, hooves, and eyes glossed. Artist signature and date under hind leg.
